The Belgarath the sorcerer
Belgarath the Sorcerer, by David Eddings
This volume is a precursor to the story of the Belgariad and Mallorean, and tells the story of the Sorcerer Belgarath. It is a very good read, and it explains many of the man's actions throughout the series. It is very rich in description, and through understanding, it'll make you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. Some parts of this work is so funny, you'll choke. Other bits, you'll need a new box of kleenex. It gives depth to the character. It helps us to understand the rich history that Eddings had created when he began this series.
How can you write a review in a book that offers so much? The truth is that it's very hard to explain if you aren't aqquainted with the series, but I'll say this much, it's well worth the read, it tells of a time when Gods and Men lived together, and Magic is true, and with a strong destiny, and a hard heart, you can suceed.
My rating? 4 stars.
