Mangaka : Takaya Natsuki

I love Fruits Basket. It's been licenced in Australia so it is actually quite easy to get your hands on.

It follows the story of Honda Tohru, who starts off living in a tent. She meets Sohma Yuki, and he invites her into his house to stay, and there she meets the perverted writer Sohma Shigure, and Kyo. But the Sohma's have a terrible secret - when their bodies are under stress, or if they are hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into animals of the zodiac!

It all sounds like good fun, but they all have dark, troubled childhoods - and secrets, that the wonderful Tohru will learn!

The manga is beautiful (there are some really beautiful guys in there that could pass as girls) - the reactions are so hillarious, the art is so pretty, and I don't understand the Author's outakes half the time... neither do the translators I guess.

I highly recommend this manga for girls (theres not much action), there's heaps of character development for your enjoyment.
