Making a grid
Ever wondered how people make grids on sigs and backgrounds on photoshop??? Heres a quick, easy, tutorial on how :D
Step 1
Okay, I want to make a dark pinkish grid on this siggy background that I got from our signatures section.

What I do first is decide on how big i want the grid to be. I decided I want a largish grid, about 10x10px. So now I make a new document
Width: 10px
Height: 10px
Colour Mode: RGB Color
Background Contents: Transparent
Step 2
That's what it should look like. Now zoom
in
as much as possible, and select the pencil tool.
Select the colour you want on the colour pallet, and set the size to one pixel.
Draw something that looks like this

Step 3
Now, what you do is go to Edit>Define Pattern and call it whatever you want. Select the image you want the grid on and go to layer>new>layer (Shift+Ctrl+N) and select the paint bucket tool. These are the settings. For the pattern, select the one that you have just made.

Now, all you need to do is fill in that layer.

Do anything you want now to make it look nice... like clean up the edges. change the opacity, or blend into the background. Here's what I finished up with. I just changed the opacity and blended in the grid where the background image was lighter.
